The flow of abstractionism is a flow that tries to get away from the sensations or figurative associations of an object. Louis Fichner in Understanding Art (1995) states, abstract art is a simplification or distortion of forms, so that only the essence of natural forms or objects is abstracted and colors are displayed regardless of the original forms of nature.
